Jena was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. After graduating University High School in Baton Rouge, Jena earned a Bachelor of General Studies from Louisiana State University, with minors in Political Science, Sociology and Psychology. In 1999, Jena graduated from Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge. She was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar in 1999.
Following law school, Jena worked for a Louisiana state district judge as a staff attorney and then for one of the state’s largest plaintiffs’ firms where she worked closely with the Louisiana AFLCIO in the representation of its members in mass tort litigation. Jena was in charge of the firm’s bankruptcy claim and settlement department, as well as participating in all aspects of the actual litigation of her clients’ claims. This included working closely with national experts.
In addition to asbestos litigation, Jena has also concentrated on the areas of commercial litigation, family law and personal injury.
